Artificial intelligence decision support system is always a popular topic in providing the human with an optimized decision recommendation when operating under uncertainty in complex environments. The particular focus of our discussion is to compare different methods of artificial intelligence decision support systems in the investment domain – the goal of investment decision-making is to select an optimal portfolio that satisfies the investor’s objective, or, in other words, to maximize the investment returns under the constraints given by investors. In this study we apply several artificial intelligence systems like Influence Diagram (a special type of Bayesian network), Decision Tree and Neural Network to get experimental comparison analysis to help users to intelligently select the best portfoliArtificial intelligence, neural network, decision tree, bayesian network

A Review of Research on Environmental Issues in the Logistics Industry

    Get PDF
The logistics industry plays an important role in the global supply chain system. While environmental issues have become critical concerns all over the world, there is a challenge for logistics practitioners and academics to include environmental issues in logistics operations. However, scant attention was paid to environmental issues in the logistics industry. This article aims to understand the trends, gaps, and research opportunities of environmental issues in the logistics industry. Reviewing related literature suggests three broad research areas: the substance of environmental logistics practices, the determinants of environmental logistics practice adoption, and the consequences of implementing environmental logistics practices. Advice for logistics practitioners and opportunities of future research for academics are discussed

An Empirical Study on Logistics Service Providers’ Intention to Adopt Green Innovations

This study examines six factors that will influence the intention to adopt green innovations for logistics service providers. The determinant factors include technological, organizational and environmental dimensions. The data came from the questionnaire survey on logistics companies in Taiwan, and 162 samples were analyzed. According to the survey results, all the factors have positive influences on the intention to adopt green practices. Explicitness and accumulation of green practices, organizational encouragement, quality of human resources, environmental uncertainty and governmental supports exhibit significant influences on the willingness to adopt green practices. This study examines six factors that will influence the intention to adopt green innovations for logistics service providers. With the fast growth in China’s economy, the logistics industry in China is set to take off, and more and more logistics companies begin to adopt innovative logistics technologies. RFID technology has been regarded as an important innovative application in logistics operations and supply chain management. This paper aims to study the antecedents and consequences of RFID technology adoption from the perspective of technological innovation by conducting a questionnaire survey on China’s logistics companies. The factors influencing RFID technology adoption consist of organizational and environmental dimensions. Research findings reveal that organizational encouragement for innovation, quality of human capital, organizational accumulation of related knowledge, perceived environmental uncertainty, and governmental support exhibit significant influences on the willingness to adopt RFID technology. Logistics companies with higher levels of willingness to adopt RFID technology will be associated with better supply chain performance

Lung allograft standardized histological analysis (LASHA) template: A research consensus proposal

BACKGROUND: Routine monitoring of lung-transplanted patients is crucial for the identification of immunological and non-immunological complications. Determining the etiology of acute allograft dysfunction, particularly in alloimmune-mediated disorders, relies heavily on the lung biopsy with histopathologic analysis. Standardization of the pathologic diagnosis of rejection (e.g., cellular and antibody-mediated) is based on consensus statements and guidelines, indicating the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to achieve a definitive etiological diagnosis. In addition to these statements and guidelines, refinements and standardizations are feasible through systematic analysis morphological, immunophenotypic and molecular alterations observed in transbronchial biopsies. This study is to identify key morphologic features to be assessed, select consistent and reproducible terminology for each histological feature, and provide standardized definitions for pathological assessment and grading. METHODS: A template was created by experts in lung transplantation including pathologists, pulmonologists, immunologists. An initial draft was circulated, followed by discussions and multiple revisions by email and conference calls. RESULTS: The lung allograft standardized histological analysis - LASHA template was created and structured as multiple-choice questions with number of fields to be filled in to allow for standardization of results and easy transfer into a future electronic spreadsheet. CONCLUSION: This template will help facilitate multicenter studies through a uniform protocol and correlations with new diagnostic modalities. After validation in large-scale studies, an optimized template could be included in routine clinical practice to enhance graft assessment and medical decision-making
